Chirp of the moment!: Baxter Dance Festival finishes this weekend but another opportunity to see a piece of dance theatre at Artscape as part of its New Voices platform. Jackie Manyaapelo (formerly artistic director, Jazzart) is performing in Satisfaction Index - love the title - taken from the Satisfaction Index - global study which attempts to quantify happiness levels. It's the first time in yonks that Jackie is on stage and going solo, nogal. Satisfaction Index is part of a double bill at Artscape. The other piece is Solsaat, a play by Amy Jephta and Ephraim Gordon. The inspiration for Ephraim was the stories of Ashley Kriel and Anton Fransch - the anti-apartheid activists who were killed by policemen. First time that Amy and Ephraim working together since leaving varsity. Amy is directing and Ephraim is performing. Soldaat is 50 mins and Satisfaction Index is 30 mins; 20 mins interval.
